Norman Steisel was Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX), from January 2003 to July 2008. A key member of the PHLX strategic management team, Mr. Steisel was accountable for watching over the day-to-day operations through which the PHLX’s initiatives and strategic plans were carried out.
The design of the strategic plan was to draw out value through leveraging regulatory licenses, enhancing technology assets, and offering unique trading products and modalities. The Exchange was ultimately sold to NASDAQ OMX. Mr. Steisel managed the Exchange’s involvement in integration activities and transition planning with the NASDAQ OMX.
